This programmer is for AT89S series only. ATmega16 etc are AVR family MCUs.

eXtreme Burner is a nice product. I wish to give some inputs which I hope u will take positively.
1. PCB quality has to be improved. You can increase the cost of final product. It will not affect the product sales.
2. Soldering is poor, I have to resolder all the dry or no solder points( almost 12-13points.)
3. For ISP there is no help either on CD or Website. Please mention the pin outs of the product and connection digram if one wishes to use ISP instead of ZIF socket.
Anyway Beautiful indian product by functionality.

Thanks for your valuable suggestions. We have already done several improvents to the product and new version will be available in 2-3 days!!!
We have also changed the PCB and the whole product to standard through hole assembly process(before it was SMT).

Hello Hansjoerg,
Yes it can program the 89s8252 and 89s8253. It can program the FLASH (Program) memory but cannot program the EEPROM memory.

But AT89s52 is exactly same as at89c52.
Just it supports serial programming via SPI

Not the ‘c’ parts only ’s’ parts. ’s’ and ‘c’ IC are 100% compatible so you can replace ‘c’ with ’s’ in any project without any problems. ’s’ is new and supports low voltage serial programming.

December 17th, 2009 at 6:29 pmAs you have already cleared that it can program AT89s8253 as well so I would also like to know whether can we lock the codes with the software that is provided alongwith. As nowhere in your tutorial it is mentioned that we can lock the codes.
Currently I am using ATMELISP by Ulrich Bangert for programming my application via ISP and I would love to by this product of yours if it can provide the 3 layer Security Code Lock.
