    Hi,
I want to design a home security system for my senior project using AT mega32 MCU. I have certain specifications for the design. I am wondering if you can help me in that. My major concern is the program to send SMS from MCU to the cell phone via DB connector.
Do reply if you can help me.

    Thanks,
    Tarun

    Hello Tarun,

I can help you with that. First get some cheap Nokia Phone that has serial connectivity with PC. Then connect it with PC and use Hyper terminal to send AT commands to the device. Get the full Nokia AT command reference and find command for SMS functionality. Try those command with Hyper Terminal. Then when you know their proper use send those commands with AVR MCUs instead of PC (Hyper Terminal)

For Hyper Terminal and Serial communication see

Hello is it possible to use this board to interface with a smoke sensor, motion sensor, keypad, as well as temperature sensor. I’m build a small home security system for my project and i would like to know if this is possible.
